Pizzaiola-Style Beef Recipe

Ingredients

     
  • 4 tender beef steaks, not too thick
  • 4 large, ripe red tomatoes
  • 7 capers
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Coconut oil

Preparation

  • Wash the steaks to remove any excess blood and possible contaminants from handling at the butcher.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste and let them marinate.
  • Meanwhile, chop the tomatoes into small pieces, preserving the juice released while cutting.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little coconut oil, and sear the steaks, cooking them on both sides.
  • Once cooked, add the chopped tomatoes, capers, a touch of honey, a bit more salt, and 1/2 cup of water.
  • Stir gently and continue cooking over low heat for about 15 more minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly but keeping the meat juicy.
