Ingredients
- 4 tender beef steaks, not too thick
- 4 large, ripe red tomatoes
- 7 capers
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Coconut oil
Preparation
- Wash the steaks to remove any excess blood and possible contaminants from handling at the butcher.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and let them marinate.
- Meanwhile, chop the tomatoes into small pieces, preserving the juice released while cutting.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little coconut oil, and sear the steaks, cooking them on both sides.
- Once cooked, add the chopped tomatoes, capers, a touch of honey, a bit more salt, and 1/2 cup of water.
- Stir gently and continue cooking over low heat for about 15 more minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly but keeping the meat juicy.
