Hypertension

Definition of Hypertension

Hypertension is a medical condition characterized by high blood pressure, meaning the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries is consistently elevated.

Although this condition has a genetic component, it can be triggered by the inflammation caused by an unhealthy lifestyle: poor diet, excessive salt, deficiencies in specific minerals, stress, among others.

Hypertension is considered a major risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks or strokes.

To control hypertension, it is recommended to follow an anti-inflammatory diet, based on the 3R Protocol, exercise regularly, avoid excessive salt and alcohol consumption, and, in some cases, take medications prescribed by a doctor.
