Gluten-Free Diet

Definition of a Gluten-Free Diet

A gluten-free diet excludes any food or ingredient derived from cereals such as wheat, barley, rye, oats, corn, rice, sorghum, millet, and teff, as they contain gluten—a protein that can be difficult for the intestine to digest.

Since 70% of the immune system is located in the gut, this is why we recommend removing these foods in the 3R Immunonutrition Protocol. This diet is not only recommended for celiac disease but also for non-celiac gluten sensitivity and other inflammatory disorders and symptoms, as consuming gluten can trigger an immune response in the body and cause damage to the lining of the small intestine.

By following a gluten-free diet, the goal is to avoid the symptoms and complications associated with these conditions, thus improving the quality of life for those who follow it.
